Many of you know me already, but as a refresher, I'm Cheri and I've been studying Pilates for over 25 years. I'm thrilled to continue to serve the Humboldt County area, working primarily with private clients and as a group instructor at Vida Sana Pilates Studio. I've spent thousands of hours on certifications and education over the last two decades, most notably studying under Karen Frischmann for the Classical Progressions Masters Program to completed in 2023, and my STOTT Pilates level II certification.
We've held four rounds of Teacher Training in 2023, and have graduated 15 teachers! Upcoming trainings will be announced shortly - sign up below to stay in the know!
Welcome to pilates teacher training by cheri cohen
Cheri Cohen's Pilates teacher training program was informative, engaging, and fun. I came into the session with very little Pilates experience and the course was extensive, but I left feeling inspired and strong. Cheri provided anatomy lessons, history of pilates, and everyday applications of what we were learning. The group was intimate and helpful towards each other as we were all learning with different movement backgrounds and goals.
Having experienced the 50 hour + teacher training with cheri cohen I can honestly say there is no other Pilates training like it. The depth and relevant layers combined with her level of mastery will completely captivate you as a student and help polish your teaching skills. She has a wealth of knowledge and she shares every bit of it.
I can not express enough how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to take Cheri Cohen's Pilates Teacher Training and learn from one of the best! Cheri has such a vast knowledge of not only Pilates but the entire body and how everything works together, as well as what is happening with different injuries/physical conditions and how to accommodate clients with these issues as a movement professional.
What's the format of the teacher training schedule?
CCPTT is a 400 hour comprehensive training course. In-person and virtual participation will be required. Outside studies, assessments, and apprenticeship is required.
Is there required work outside of workshops?
Yes, you will be required to complete a certain amount of hours doing observation, practice teaching, self practice, reading, and quizes.
What can I expect to make as a pilates instructor?
This depends on whether you are an employee, independent contractor(IC), or studio owner. In Humboldt County the rates of pay seem to vary between $25-$100 per session depending. Teachers with more experience, education and knowledge tend to be paid the higher of the range. As Employees, this is dependent upon the Employers set rate and policies.
are there any additional fees associated?
Yes, there can be additional costs of printing, books, materials, subscriptions and classes or private trainings.
IS there a test or evaluation I need to pass at the end?
You are evaluated the entire process. You will be asked to practice teach to the group and individually, there are weekly quiz's that count toward your success as well. At the end of the module, you will be given feedback to continue to help guide you to become the Pilates teacher you want to be.
